Workshop on Morphosyntax

More than 700 of the world languages are spoken in Indonesia and this has made the country a hotspot of linguistic diversity. However, it has been predicted that many of these languages will disappear by the end of this century. Thus, linguists working in Indonesia play a crucial role in documenting and describing human linguistic diversity. Unfortunately, local linguists possessing the adequate skills to conduct high quality research on language are limited. For this reason, it is essential that Indonesian linguists interested in working on local languages be exposed to the skills needed to carry out basic linguistic fieldwork on understudied language.
