Promoting cross-cultural understanding and exchange through research, creativity, and collaboration

The American Institute for Indonesian Studies (AIFIS) was created to foster scholarly collaborations between Indonesian and American scholars, researchers, and educators.  AIFIS promotes educational and research initiatives by American scholars pursuing work in Indonesia, and helps to facilitate research visits by Indonesian scholars in the United States.

The AIFIS 2018 annual report is now complete. The complete report is available for download here.
