Promoting cross-cultural understanding and exchange through research, creativity, and collaboration

The American Institute for Indonesian Studies (AIFIS) was created to foster scholarly and artistic collaborations between Indonesian and American scholars, researchers, educators, and artists.  AIFIS promotes educational and research initiatives by American scholars pursuing work in Indonesia, and helps to facilitate research visits by Indonesian scholars and artists in the United States.
