This event will present a tribute for Prof. Effendi Kadarisman, Ph.D, an Indonesian scholar who earned his Ph.D in the United States and who has since contributed to the development of linguistics in Indonesia through his publications and teaching of linguistics.

In addition, this event featured the exchange of linguistic insights between linguistic scholars from the United States (Thomas Conners and Thomas Hunter) and Indonesia (Ika Nurhayani, Ph.D and Dr. Sugeng Hariyanto) through discussion of their articles in ‘Tumpeng Akademik’.
